Hello all, and welcome to the first official post of our little newsletter, here with some exciting, actual news!
Finally, here it is: meet Graintouch, our new iPad app inspired by Risograph™ aesthetics, which lets you layer, blend, and create with the warmth of real ink, right on your screen.
To see how it all works, dive right in to our launch trailer, which gives you a quick taste:
And then follow along with our much more in-depth introductory tutorial, that’ll get you up and drawing in minutes:
If you’ve used our apps like Looom in the past (or even if you haven’t!), we think you’ll feel right at home here.
Graintouch comes with a playful palette of 18 handpicked inks, straight from the riso universe, giving you meaningful constraints to spark your creativity — just like mixing real inks on a print run.
It also features a full print simulation, which lets you visualize your art as if it just rolled off the drum: use offset imperfections, layered tints, and all the charming peculiarities of real ink, without the mess.
We can’t wait to see how your style is reflected, and we hope you’ll share your work with us using the #graintouchapp hashtag, wherever you prefer to post!
Graintouch is available now on the App Store for $9.99 — no monthly fees, no add-ons, just pay once and use it forever.
For more information and to see other examples of what you can do (now featuring the work of our friends Dani Diez and Eric Lerner, both above), you can visit our new Graintouch website, and our visual manual, but the best way to learn is to just dive in and start playing!
Graintouch is just one of the many things we’ve been busy creating over the past few years — stay tuned to this very newsletter, to our new Bluesky account, our Instagram, or come say hi and hang out in our extremely chill Discord to see what’s coming up next!
PS: know someone who you think will love this newsletter and the things we’ve made? Helping us spread the word is maybe the most powerful and motivating way you can keep us going!
Guys, this is amazing. Been using it for a few days. It’s liberating and a ton of fun. Love the constraints.
